IT 8.7/2 (ISO 12641) Scanner Target Charge R000926 Error Information

The typical reproduction fault of the target is below CIE Lab dE 0.6. With a statistical probability of 99% all targets are within a maximum dE range of 1.70 from the values specified in the reference file. This theoretical maximum is still well under the dE 2.0 required by the IT 8.7 standard for calibrated targets (these are single handed measured targets). As said, these are theoretical maximum values based on statistics. So far, measured targets are usualy well below these values.

Below find the CIE Lab dE errors when comparing the values of the target reference file with the IT 8.7/2 standard values. Thanks to selfwritten software we were able to get the color patches of the target pretty close to what the IT 8.7 standard describes and well below the maximum error allowed by the standard.

Note: the errors listed below do not describe the error of the target when using the reference file. It only shows how good the color values of the target match the IT 8.7/2 standard values in case your profiling software is not using the reference file shipped with your target. Any good calibration software uses the reference file of the target to get much lower errors.
